Plakatstil Inspired Poster
Category: Poster
Tools: Illustrator
Research and development of a poster for a portuguese music festival, Vilar de Mouros, inspired by a specific era of the graphic design history - Plakatstil.
Plakatstil emerged with Lucian Bernhard in Germany during the early twentieth century and usually uses bold, straigth font with flat-colors. Shapes and objects are simplified while the subject of the poster remains detailed. The simplicity of this style marked a retreat from the decorative, organic style of Art Nouveau and sparked a revolution in the graphic arts and advertising.
